Jose Mourinho stance speaks volumes as Everton manager question draws sharp response

After Jose Mourinho was linked with the manager job at Goodison Park, Everton fans sent a clear message to the Toffees management. Early this week, it was said that the former manager of Chelsea and Manchester United would take over from Sean Dyche after the Friedkin Group agreed to buy the club.

Dan Friedkin is someone Mourinho knows well because he hired and fired Friedkin while he was at AS Roma. During his time in Serie A, the Portuguese coach led I Giallorossi to the Europa League Final and won the Europa Conference League. He was fired in January 2024.

Mourinho, who is now in charge of Fenerbahce in Turkey, has been linked with a return with his old boss. But Everton fans have made it clear to the new Toffees management what they think about Dyche’s future and a possible move for Mourinho.

Carlos67: “Mourinho has had a great career, but I don’t think he would be a good fit for Everton right now.” Whatever the manager is, there are no certainties. Somewhat temptingly, I might check to see if Graham Potter is free. After playing for Chelsea, he will have more knowledge, and Everton may be a better fit for him. Although, we need to back Sean Dyche as long as he is our boss.mickbutcher: “I don’t want him to be Everton’s manager.” Young, Beto, and Harrison can leave with him.#hamlet53: “Definitely not Mourinho!” The first big mistake the new owners will make as managers will be hiring him. There is some hope that the boss we’re looking for won’t be the biggest whiner in the Premier League.

wall2wall28 said, “Dyche should be fired, and David Moyes should be brought back.”

There was also this: “Jose?” Not interested. I liked how he controlled Liverpool and kept the Liverpool fans quiet, but not for me.
