Jack Grealish makes shocking admission on leaving Manchester City as club face multiple transfer exit

Jack Grealish was inactive during the final five matches of the season for Manchester City, accumulating no playing time.

Jack Grealish is reportedly poised to remain with Manchester City in 2023/24, despite Pep Guardiola limiting his playing time. Although the Sky Blues may lack the ability to avert additional significant departures, three long-serving players are currently contemplating their futures.

Grealish, who was acquired for a Premier League-record £100 million in 2021, contributed to City’s fourth consecutive championship with a meager three goals, one assist, and ten Premier League starts this season.

Gareth Southgate has included the 28-year-old in his provisional England squad; however, his lackluster performance at the club level threatens to jeopardize his spot in the final 26-man roster for Euro 2024.

The Athletic reports that over the past year, City manager Guardiola has reportedly engaged in numerous discussions with wideman Grealish in an effort to convince him to rediscover his best form. The former Aston Villa ace performed admirably for City as they completed an unprecedented treble in 2022/23.

Grealish was reportedly unsatisfied with his training efforts at the beginning of May, and for the duration of the season, Guardiola did not utilize him in any competitive setting. Nevertheless, the same source asserts that Grealish has “absolutely no chance” of departing the Etihad prior to the upcoming season.

Although the player appears to have reached a conclusion, three other critical members of Guardiola’s squad remain undecided. Ederson is reportedly considering a lucrative offer from Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League.

Earlier this spring, the ball-playing goalkeeper was expected to sign a new contract with City; while a new agreement is still pending, his future is currently unknown. Even Kevin De Bruyne’s ability to begin the upcoming season in sky blue is uncertain.

San Diego FC, an MLS club, has reportedly been contacted by the Belgian’s retinue in an effort to negotiate a transfer to the United States. De Bruyne is a two-time Premier League Player of the Season and the talisman of Manchester City.

Bernardo Silva, whose contract is considered to contain a £50 million release clause, rounds out the trio. For the past three summers, the Portuguese has toyed with the idea of relocating to Spain or his native country. Should an interested party be willing to pay the necessary sum, this year may ultimately be his chance to make his move.

Silva, Ederson, and De Bruyne’s departures would create an enormous vacancy in City’s lineup prior to the following season. In addition, Guardiola has alluded to the possibility of his own departure, amidst speculation that the upcoming season will mark his final stint with the club.
