Ja Morant’s Wake-Up Call: Ex-NBA Star’s Statement Sparks Grizzlies Hope

Ja Morant’s Wake-Up Call: Ex-NBA Star’s Statement Sparks Grizzlies Hope

Playoff and on-court controversy involving Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has made him one of the most divisive NBA players in recent years.

His stories have made headlines across the league. Morant, who will be 26 years old this season, has played in the NBA for seven seasons, but he has only guided the Grizzlies to the postseason once.

Even though he has been a reliable point guard for the Grizzlies for the last many seasons, his future with the team has been cast into question due to his increased injury risk.

Will Ja Morant always be a Grizzly?

Of course, the vast majority of Grizzlies fans would prefer an emphatic “yes,” but there are two possible outcomes in which Morant decides to go from the team.

The first is that Morant gets frustrated and wants a trade because the Grizzlies keep losing games, particularly in the playoffs. Second, the Grizzlies decide to cash in on Morant’s trade value after getting sick of his antics and injuries.

Fans can’t presume the Grizzlies would make a mistake by letting Morant depart, even though they hope none of those things to happen and that he will stay with the team for a long time.

Morant is one of the most captivating players the NBA has seen recently and, when on the court, may be the most dynamic player in the game.

Morant has become a walking highlight reel and one of the league’s top stars while playing in such a small market.

Morant’s value in Memphis

Of course, the Grizzlies win more games when Morant is on the floor, but he brings much more to the franchise than that.

Morant is arguably the most important athlete in Memphis history, and the city cannot let him go.

On the “Club 520 Podcast,” former NBA All-Star Jeff Teague recently said that, despite Morant being one of the league’s most intriguing players, the Grizzlies fail to garner any interest when he is not in action. “Memphis is a cool team to watch when Ja Morant is playing,” remarked Teague.

In Ja’s absence, I implore you not to air Memphis. And that is not an act of contempt… His speech is absolutely nonsensical. Dude, he’s tough. He has no intention of inviting anyone to join him in his game… I disrupt that entire energy, dude.

Teague’s co-host, DJ Wells, also said, “Even the vibe of the city is different. When Ja got it going, Memphis is a different city. The ‘Ja Effect’ is one thousand percent real.”

Morant is the most important athlete in the city of Memphis, and the franchise has to recognize that he is far too vital to the franchise and the area to trade him.

The franchise should be doing all it can to keep Morant happy, as they are much better off if he can stay in Memphis for his entire NBA career.
