It looks like Erik ten Hag was right about Scott McTominay after the new £30m Man United reminder.

Under stress Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, may have been right when he said he would sell Scott McTominay this summer.

After his time at Old Trafford was over, the player finished his move to Napoli in Serie A. The end price for the youth team graduate could go up to £30 million. Because he came up through the ranks, that money will be seen as profit by the club.

So far this season, McTominay has had a good time with Napoli. In the 5-0 Italy Cup win over Palermo at the end of last month, the 27-year-old scored his first goal.

Three days later, he helped his team beat Monza 2-0 in Serie A. Good things kept getting better for McTominay. On Friday night, he scored in the first 30 seconds of the home game against Como.

Napoli won by a score of 3-1. They are now four points ahead of Juventus at the top of the Serie A table, but Juventus still has a game in hand.

One reason United chose to sell this summer was the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) of the Premier League. At the time, Ten Hag gave hints that he wasn’t too excited about the sale going through.

“He was so important for Manchester United; he is everything Manchester United.” He had been here for more than 22 years, but that’s just how things are.

“Western players are more valuable, which isn’t the right thing to do, but it’s a good deal for everyone.” Scott, Napoli, and I are all happy with it.

United was able to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain with the money they got from selling McTominay. At the last minute, the 23-year-old player signed with United for £42 million.
