INJURY UPDATE: Grizzlies share Encouraging Medical News about Jaren Jackson Jr.

Centre Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies has had an eventful week.

Tuesday, the Grizzlies announced that their star big man would require surgery for a turf toe injury he acquired while playing in a “live basketball run offsite.”

lThis comes just one day after he signed a mammoth five-year $240 million agreement at the outset of free agency.

However, Memphis lovers, have no fear: On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that there was good news.

“The Memphis Grizzlies today announced that forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. underwent a successful procedure to repair a turf toe injury in his right foot,” Grizzlies PR wrote in a social media post. “Jackson Jr. will be reevaluated in approximately 12 weeks and is expected to make a full recovery.”

During his 2024–25 season, the 6’10” former Michigan State standout shot 48.8 percent from the field, averaged 22.2 points (twentieth in the league), 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

Since they paid him, and because they have high playoff hopes next year, it’s safe to assume that the Grizzlies will do all in their power to keep him healthy for the upcoming season.
