A new attacking player could be acquired by Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, may approach the January transfer market with apprehension, given the dire need for rejuvenation on his squad.

Although the summer transfer window held great potential, it ultimately fell short of its expectations. Since his transfer from Chelsea this season, Mason Mount has failed to contribute to a single goal in the Premier League or Champions League.

United had hoped that Andre Onana, a Cameroonian, would cover the void left by David De Gea’s departure after 12 years. However, in 18 appearances for the club, the Cameroonian has managed just six clean sheets while conceding 30 goals.

In January, United might sign a greater talent than Hojlund for just £20 million.

Ten Hag spent a fortune on Rasmus Hojlund in an effort to bolster his attacking options; however, the Dane has yet to produce impressive results in the Premier League.

The former Atalanta forward has been scoreless in the Premier League this season; therefore, the burden will continue to mount unless he quickly regains his composure.

As the winter transfer window approaches in a matter of weeks, Ten Hag, if his budget permits, will likely attempt to add one or two more players, focusing on defensive and offensive reinforcements.

The Red Devils were connected with Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo in the summer, after he performed admirably for Brazil at the U20 World Cup.

Numerous clubs were considered, Arsenal and Chelsea being among the most prominent, but as the transfer window progressed, no deal materialized and he remained at Santos.

As his agent has discussed Leonardo’s future, the news that the youth is likely to depart Brazil in January could provide a boost to the Old Trafford club.

“During the prior transfer window, he was already susceptible to being sold.” Rafael Pimenta, his agent, stated as much.

“However, Santos’s athletic circumstances were quite unique.” He consented to remain in order to provide assistance until the conclusion of the season. His reluctance to depart stemmed from the fact that it was not the proper course of action.

However, the transfer has now become necessary. He is eager to gain expertise in Europe, and this winter will mark his opportunity to do so.

90min reports that the forward could be acquired for approximately £20 million, and given his remarkable performance in South America over the past three years, it is unsurprising that so many clubs are interested in signing him.

Now that his agent has confirmed his departure, Ten Hag has the opportunity to acquire him; in doing so, he may even discover a more exceptional player than Hojlund.
