Everton
Igor Jesus was wanted by John Textor at Everton, and West Ham is now interested in the Botafogo scorer.
Alan Nixon says that John Textor wanted to move Igor Jesus from Botafogo to Everton if he could close a takeover deal at Goodison Park.
The reporter said on his Patreon page on 3 November that West Ham want to sign the 23-year-old in a “surprise” £30 million deal. Lucas Paqueta could also go the other way.
Before a deal with Dan Friedkin was made earlier this season, Crystal Palace co-owner Textor was in the running to buy Farhad Moshiri’s full stake in the Toffees.
Everton didn’t get another scorer, and new information about Igor Jesus comes out.
Textor owns Palace, Botafogo, RWD Molenbeek in Belgium, and Lyon, so if he had taken over Everton, they would have had a lot of teams from which to choose players.
A similar deal could happen for the Merseyside club, though, thanks to Friedkin’s ties to AS Roma [Gazzetta dello Sport]. Players like Tammy Abraham have already been linked with a move to Goodison Park.
It also looks like the American businessman will be bringing a lot more money to the blue side of Merseyside, which is a very exciting thought.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is slowing down after a good start to the season, and Beto is just not good enough. A new striker looks like one of the most important things Sean Dyche needs to buy next.
Vitor Roque, who is currently on loan at Real Betis from Barcelona, was highly linked with a move to Everton, but it never happened. Instead, Everton signed Armando Broja on a short-term deal because Roque was hurt.
Since going to the Brazilian first division, Jesus, on the other hand, has scored eight goals in 22 games. But Dyche should look to the school at Finch Farm if he wants to add more young players to his team.
One player who looks like he could be very good is Omari Benjamin, but the boss of the first team has not yet let him play. Certainly, a new face needs to show up and stand out right away.
