How Three (3) Legend Ronaldinho, Gary Lineker, Steven Gerrard feel about Lionel Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo as Steven Gerrard changes his mind

This year, Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’Or for an unprecedented eighth time. However, there is still much disagreement about whether he or Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player of all time.

Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? That’s the question that no one can answer.

Recently, it seems like the pendulum has swung in favor of the Argentinian. He led his country to victory at the World Cup in Qatar and won an incredible eighth Ballon d’Or. Even though he now plays in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo is still breaking records. With 128 international goals, he is 22 goals ahead of his nearest competitor.

They are not only fans who have different opinions; famous stars have also had different opinions. Steven Gerrard has now added his voice to the argument, though it seems like his views have changed a bit since he joined CR7 in the Middle East…

It’s interesting that Gerrard’s opinion has changed since he started working in Saudi Arabia. He told Gary Neville on the Overlap YouTube channel that he thought Messi was better than Ronaldo.

“We call him “The GOAT,” and when he came in January, it was obviously a huge signing,” Gerrard told the Saudi Pro League. “He could still teach me a lot about football.”

So, for six months, I watched some games and clips of Cristiano Ronaldo’s performances in the league from afar. Since then, I think the league around the world has been something that everyone wants to talk about. Even more big-name players, talents, and skill sets joined the game after Cristiano got there.

Gary Lineker

While many experts aren’t sure what to think, Gary Lineker has always said that Messi is the best player who has ever laced up a pair of boots.

Lineker had told talkSPORT before, “He’s just phenomenal.” “He’s still going strong at age 31.” The way he plays the game is different from how the rest of us do it. People get so excited about the Messi vs. Ronaldo fight, but I don’t see any difference between the two. Messi is simply better than everyone else.

“People ask me about Ronaldo’s record for goals scored and other things. But I ask them, “Have you seen Messi pass a ball?” Have you seen him roll the ball toward the goal?”

Ronaldinho

Even though Messi was still young, Ronaldinho was at the top of his game at Barcelona at the same time.

Before he left in 2008, the Brazilian player wowed at the Nou Camp, and Messi took over the role. Also, Ronaldinho has no doubts about where he stands on the GOAT idea.

“Messi,” he had said before, telling Goal, “I would have loved to keep playing with him.” He was very young, so I didn’t spend enough time with him. I’d love to play with him one more time.”
