How Luke McCowan showed James Forrest from the start that he would do well at Celtic

When it comes to Celtic, Luke McCowan is the star of the show right now thanks to his recent play for the club.

McCowan led Celtic to a win over Motherwell over the weekend. He has now done everything he can to get a start tonight at Celtic Park against Dundee.

The midfielder has played seven times for the green and white Hoops since his big summer move and has scored two goals so far this season.

McCowan’s first game for Celtic was against Rangers, and since then, the former Dundee player has impressed the Hoops fans.

But James Forrest said that the 26-year-old had already impressed him and his Celtic teammates. He talked about what McCowan did in the first practice that really impressed him.

What Luke McCowan did to persuade James Forrest that he would do well at Celtic

McCowan seems to have wasted no time showing that he is not just at Celtic to make up the numbers after being signed on the last day of the transfer window.

“All of the new players have settled in off the field,” Forrest told the Daily Record. “We could see from the first day of training that they would settle in on the field as well.”

“The first time Luke trained was the day before the Rangers game, and he looked very sure of himself right away.”

“He was clearly very excited to have signed.” Suddenly he kicked on. He’s settled in the locker room, and you can see his shows in the park.

Why Luke McCowan could be a star for both Scotland and Celtic:

McCowan has already been tipped for a call-up to Scotland because of how well he has played for Celtic, and Forrest is sure that he will do well for his country when Steve Clarke calls him.

Forrest went on, “You’ve seen it already with how useful he’s been off the bench, and it was good for him to get a start the other day. He’s a Celtic player now and doesn’t look out of place.” Afterward, he’ll wish to proceed and increase this.

“Luke would probably tell you that focusing on this is the most important thing for him right now. If he keeps doing what he’s doing, he has the skills, confidence, and character to be involved with Scotland.”

I have no worries about him if he gets called up because he has made the jump to Celtic.

Prior to Clarke choosing his Scotland team for the next international break, McCowan has at least two games to show him why he should be called up.

Next month, McCowan will definitely be playing for Scotland if he does well against Dundee tonight and again if he is picked to play against Aberdeen on Saturday.
