Reason Why Arsenal player Leandro Trossard’s goal vs Brentford was ruled out as Arsenal suffer VAR judgement vs Brentford
News about Arsenal: their first goal against Brentford was ruled out because Leandro Trossard was offside before the goal.
On Saturday night, Leandro Trossard’s opening goal against Brentford was ruled out for offside, which led to another VAR ruling against Arsenal.
Near the end of the first half, Trossard scored with a header from two yards out, giving the Gunners a 1-0 lead. Mark Flekken stopped Gabriel Jesus’ shot, and then the Belgian wrapped up the loose ball and scored.
VAR looked at the play for a long time and decided that the goal wasn’t valid because Trossard was offside when Jesus’ header hit the post.
The FA rules say that a player is offside if any part of their head, body, or feet is in the other team’s half (but not on the halfway line) and if any part of their head, body, or feet is closer to the other team’s goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent.
The goal isn’t the first bad thing to happen to Mikel Arteta’s team. Early in the season, Gabriel Martinelli’s goal against Everton was called off for offside. When Newcastle United scored the winning goal against Arsenal, the Spaniard went on a crazy rant.
“We have to talk about the result because you have to talk about how the hell this goal stand ups and it’s incredible,” said the Arsenal head coach. “I feel embarrassed but I have to be the one now coming here to try to defend the club and please ask for help, because it’s an absolute disgrace that this goal is allowed; it’s an absolute disgrace.”
“Because it’s not a goal for many reasons,” he said. “It’s not a goal for at least one reason,” Arteta answered. “This isn’t a goal, and too much is at stake.” We work really hard, but it’s really hard to fight at this level, and it’s a shame.
“Again, I feel ashamed that I’ve lived in this country for more than 20 years and this isn’t even close to being the best league in the world.” I’m sorry.” Because of what he said, Arteta was charged with misbehavior by the FA.
