After officially joining Manchester United’s academy earlier this month, Denmark youth international striker Chido Obi-Martin started his first game for the under-18 team today. He has already sent a message to first-team boss Erik ten Hag about how well he played.

At the Carrington Training Center, the 16-year-old scored three goals in just 14 minutes as the under-18s blew away Nottingham Forest.

The under-18 team from Man United scored five goals in the first 45 minutes and went on to win 6-0. Obi-Martin scored goals in the first, fifth, and fourteenth minutes.

The Danish teen star moved from Arsenal to Manchester United after scoring 32 goals and setting up three others in 20 Premier League games for Arsenal’s under-18 team last season. He also scored 10 goals for Arsenal’s under-16 team in a 14-3 win over Liverpool in November.

Many people think that he will start working regularly with the Man United first team soon, and Ten Hag would have been aware of this from how he played today.

Obi-Martin could be getting closer to making his start with the first team if he keeps scoring like this. The Dutch manager will not hesitate to give him chances if he consistently shows that he is good enough in training.

Ten Hag’s main strikers right now are Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, but the former Arsenal student could soon be joining them. After leaving the Gunners for Manchester United, all eyes will be on him going forward.
