While the Memphis Grizzlies extended an offer, 24-year-old Tarik Biberovic plans to extend his contract with Fenerbahce Beko for another three years.
In spite of an offer from the Memphis Grizzlies, 24-year-old forward Tarik Biberovic decided to stay put and ink a three-year extension with Fenerbahce Beko.
On Wednesday, Eurohoops verified his decisions, which were disclosed by insider Yagız Sabuncuoglu.
Since he was drafted by the Grizzlies in 2023 with the 56th overall pick, they have retained his NBA rights.
Three additional teams, in addition to the Tennessee Volunteers, have expressed increasing interest in signing him following a possible trade this offseason in preparation for the 2025–26 regular season.
But Biberovic will remain with Fener to play in the EuroLeague and Turkey’s domestic leagues.
From his 2018 signing with the Istanbul club all the way to his May 2018 title in Abu Dhabi, he appeared in 117 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games.
In the 2024–25 season, while competing in the top club continental league in Europe, each game saw 10.4 points, 3.1 boards, 1.4 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.2 blocks.
Over the course of 29 games played, he averaged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game for the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi, helping his team to a third domestic league title.
