‘GETTING WORSE’… PIERS MORGAN TEARS INTO £280,000-A-WEEK ARSENAL PLAYER VS BURNLEY
Piers Morgan evaluated Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz at the Emirates Stadium after observing him in action against Burnley.
The television personality and Arsenal supporter was not at all charmed with what Havertz displayed in Saturday’s Premier League match.
Saturday, Arsenal hosted Burnley in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
By securing the victory, the Gunners preserved their Premier League title bid.
Arsenal’s Kai Havertz made the starting lineup.
Havertz, who arrived at Arsenal during the summer transfer window after joining London and Premier League rivals Chelsea, occupied the right position in a midfield-three.
After 59 minutes, the 24-year-old Germany international was substituted.
The £280,000-per-week (Spotrac) midfielder completed one crucial pass with a pass accuracy of 77.3%, won three headers, collected 31 touches, and attempted one cross during his time on the field.
Havertz delivered yet another lackluster performance, and Piers Morgan, an Arsenal supporter and television personality, criticized him.
With 12 matches played, Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League standings with 27 points.
With eleven games remaining, the Gunners are tied with leaders and defending champions Manchester City in points.
Manager of Arsenal Mikel Arteta must give careful consideration to the possibility of utilizing Kai Havertz.
Although I commend Arteta for maintaining Havertz in the lineup despite his lackluster performance, there comes a time when Arsenal’s manager must consider substituting him with a more deserving candidate.
Havertz attempted his hardest and attempted some excellent passes against Burnley, but he was unable to find the finishing flourish.
Additionally, the former Chelsea player was unsuccessful on one occasion with a free header.
