Gary Lineker made fun of Erling Haaland after making a mean joke about a Man City star after derby with Manchester United
In the Premier League match between Man City and United, Erling Haaland missed a clear chance to score.
Gary Lineker made things even worse for Erling Haaland after he missed a simple goal for City in the Manchester derby this afternoon in the Premier League. Before the Norwegian striker’s mistake, Marcus Rashford’s rocket put United ahead at the Etihad.
Before halftime, Phil Foden’s smart header across the goal looked like it was going to be equalized by Haaland from close range. Strangely, though, City’s star player hit his shot over the crossbar when he had the whole goal to aim for from only a few yards away.
Foden scored his second goal of the game to put the home team ahead 2-1 in the 80th minute after some great play down the left side of the field. Haaland scored the game-winning goal with a nice finish in stoppage time, keeping the pressure on Liverpool and Arsenal in the race for the title.
However, Haaland’s miss will not be forgotten for a long time. It stunned Gary Neville and Roy Keane to the core. “Oh my goodness. What did he do? “What hasn’t he done?” Neville asked during the Sky Sports broadcast. “They worked on it over and over, and we finally thought they had it perfect.” Until then. A few weeks ago, he missed chances against Chelsea.
“Pep Guardiola can’t believe it.” We just saw something very strange. Are you sure he wants to put it over the net? Does he want to be smart?”
At the same time, Keane, another great United player, made things worse for Haaland. “I cannot believe this. “I can’t explain it,” Keane told Sky Sports at halftime. “All he needs to do is head it or let it go.” He most likely thinks he’s already scored.
“Just look at Rodri’s face, he can’t believe it,” Micah Richards said. “Haaland was also shocked.”
