
A member of the United States Basketball Under-19 National Team for the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup in 2025, Jasper Johnson is a signee from the Kentucky Wildcats’ Class of 2025. The 247Sports Composite ranks the prospect as a five-star.
He is one of twelve athletes on the squad, which also includes Mikel Brown Jr., a basketball recruit from Louisville.
Johnson had a career year as a senior with Real Wild Energy, averaging 20.3, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in Overtime Elite play.
As the World Cup gets underway, the US will face Australia, France, and Cameroon in Group D.
When it comes to under-19 matches, the national team is 4-2 all-time versus Australia and 6-1 series lead over France.
Its encounter with Cameroon will mark its debut.
Starting in 1979, the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup was held. Every four years it was held until 2007.
It is now held every other year. Although they did not place in 2023, the United States has won gold eight times, the most recent being in 2021.
