Four Wolverines selected inside top 20 in Daniel Jeremiah’s new mock draft

Michigan has four players who have been widely projected as first-round picks throughout the offseason, but could all of them get selected inside the top 20 in April?

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah lays out there scenario in his latest 2025 mock draft, released Tuesday.

There’s been a shift recently in who experts believe will be the first Wolverine off the board. Defensive tackle Mason Graham has been frequently linked to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that’s where Jeremiah has the 6-foot-3, 320-pounder going at No. 5 overall.

Graham, an elite run-stopper who finished with nine sacks in three seasons at Michigan, is considered one of the top overall prospects in the draft. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has him ranked No. 3 in his latest Big Board.

“This seems like a perfect marriage between need, talent and fit,” Jeremiah wrote. “Graham is one of the most consistent players in the class.”

Up next in Jeremiah’s mock is cornerback Will Johnson, who was limited to six games in 2024. The 6-foot-2 former All-American had been projected as a top-10 pick by many experts early in the draft process, but Jeremiah has him slipping just outside, heading to the San Francisco 49ers at No. 11.

“Johnson is a scheme fit, and his size will play well in a division featuring wide receivers built like power forwards,” her wrote.

Graham and Kenneth Grant could be two of the first defensive tackles off the board at April 24-26 draft in Green Bay. Kiper ranks the 6-foot-3, 339-pound Grant as the No. 3 tackle in the draft, and Jeremiah has him being the third off the board behind Graham and Ole Miss’ Walter Nolen (No. 12 to Dallas). Grant moved up two spots from Jeremiah’s last mock in January, now being projected to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 16.

“Grant would immediately assist against the run, and he has enormous upside as a pass rusher,” Jeremiah wrote. “The hope is he eventually develops into an impact defender in the mold of Dexter Lawrence.”

Colston Loveland, a natural pass-catching tight end who led the Wolverines in receiving by a large margin in 2024, moved inside the top 20 since Jeremiah’s previous mock. The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder is now headed to the Denver Broncos at No. 20 – two spots ahead of when Loveland’s former coach, Jim Harbaugh, is slated to pick with the Los Angeles Chargers.

“The Broncos fill a huge need by selecting a tight end with great length, quickness and big-play ability,” Jeremiah said. “Sean Payton gets his “joker” on offense.”

The quartet is among nine Michigan players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 27-March 2 in Indianapolis.
