According to Fabrizio Romano, Leny Yoro’s new boss at Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, has a lot of faith in his skills.

During the summer transfer window, the Frenchman was one of the most sought-after players. His amazing time with Lille in Ligue 1 made people think of him as the Kylian Mbappe of centre backs.

The 19-year-old player was said to be interested in Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool. However, INEOS made their intentions clear by signing him to United in a deal worth what is thought to be €62 million, plus an additional €8 million in add-ons.

The France under-21 player made a good impact on his preseason debut, but he couldn’t play against Arsenal in the US because of an injury.

After Erik ten Hag lost his job in October, he couldn’t count on his much-touted signing. However, the young player has now returned to first-team training and will be ready to play for Amorim’s team after the international break.

The Portuguese player is said to be excited about working with Yoro, who has yet to play in a game for the Red Devils.

Romano says that the centre-back is “one of the most interesting players to develop for Man United’s long term project” according to the former Sporting CP boss and his staff.

“He’s seen as a generational talent by the club, and Amorim and his staff fully agree on that,” the Italian reporter said.

The 3-4-3 method used by Amorim is based on strong defence, and the central defenders are expected to move the ball forward from the back.

In that way, the 6′ 3′′ player, who is good at covering wide areas and feels at ease when he has the ball, has all the skills needed to become an important part of the new manager’s team.

Amorim has high hopes for more United players than just Yoro. A story recently in The Peoples Person said that the 39-year-old head coach likes Mason Mount.

It was hard for the England player to make a name for himself under Ten Hag, but Amorim wants to put Mount “at the centre of his plans.”
