EXCLUSIVE: The most recent proposals for Manchester United’s 100,000-seat “New Trafford” stadium have been revealed.
Manchester United has shared new information and images regarding their plans for a new, state-of-the-art 100,000-seat stadium that could be constructed on land contiguous to Old Trafford.
Manchester United has disclosed their vision for the new 100,000-seat stadium that the club’s hierarchy intends to construct.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired his childhood club, United have been transparent about their aspiration to construct a state-of-the-art stadium on adjacent land to Old Trafford.
The Old Trafford Task Force, which was established by the Ineos chief, is comprised of individuals such as Lord Seb Coe and Gary Neville. Although the club has not explicitly disregarded the possibility of renovating their current home, it is widely believed that their favored alternative is the construction of a new £2 billion super stadium.
Manchester United has published a series of images on their official website, marking the first time since the concept was first proposed earlier this year, that illustrate the potential design of their new stadium.
Oxford Economics, a global advisory firm, has estimated that United’s initiatives to revitalize Trafford Park could generate an economic stimulus of over £7 billion.
The project’s focal point would be the proposed new stadium for the club. The spherical design of ‘New Trafford’ is depicted in computer-generated issues, replete with a grand roof and a red exterior.Foster + Partners, the architects who designed the new Wembley stadium, have created the images, which also illustrate the potential for regeneration of the surrounding areas. Since the plans were disclosed to the public at the beginning of the week, they have already generated a significant amount of interest and feedback from supporters online.
Ratcliffe has previously proposed that a new 100,000-seat stadium could serve as the “Wembley of the North.” However, it is uncertain what will happen to United’s current residence if they decide to proceed with their plans.
In order to preserve the iconic venue, it had been previously stated that Old Trafford would be maintained, albeit with a reduced capacity, to host matches for the club’s women and academy teams in the future.
Nevertheless, The Mail reported last week that the plans have been altered, and it is uncertain whether Old Trafford will be retained. There are concerns that such an outcome is unfeasible due to the intricate nature of the plans.
Nevertheless, the club will make an effort to establish a heritage focus group to guarantee that the historical components of Old Trafford are preserved in the event that the stadium is demolished as part of the revised plans.
