Everton might agree to sell of the 22 years-old Midfielder to Tottenham Hotspur
According to TEAMtalk, Everton wants as much as £80 million to sell Amadou Onana this summer because there is a lot of interest.
According to an article on the outlet’s website on February 27, the Toffees want an even bigger windfall than the €60m [£51.3m] that has been talked about in Europe as Barcelona chases the Belgian midfielder.
Every member of the Premier League’s “Big Six” has allegedly expressed interest in the 22-year-old, making it “likely” that an agreement will be reached with one suitor by the end of the season. Chelsea’s interest is said to be “concrete.”
There is a 20% sell-on clause signed with Lille at the time of Onana’s £33.5 million transfer from Lille in 2022 [Sky Sports], so a sale for £80 million would give Everton a “decent” profit on the player.
Chelsea is chasing Amadou Onana, and Manchester United, Manchester City, and Everton are also interested.
The Toffees could probably get the deal they want since there are so many big-spenders looking around, but it’s not certain that they will.
If Barcelona doesn’t come up with a very good cash-plus-players offer, they will probably have a hard time winning the race no matter what.
Onana is probably not going anywhere because Sean Dyche doesn’t want him to, and there’s no guarantee that an agreement will be made because he’s been at Goodison Park during multiple transfer windows when it was thought he would be leaving.
It might be okay to give up the midfielder in exchange for the lion’s share of £100 million, but the futures of 34-year-old Idrissa Gana Gueye, whose contract is up, and 22-year-old James Garner, who is also thought to be a Spurs target [TEAMtalk, 18 February], will need to be looked at first.
