Top-Ranked American Player Gabriella Garcia Commits to Oklahoma Sooners
Gabriella Garcia, the No. 1 American women’s softball player, has announced her commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners, choosing them over finalists Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.
The highly sought-after recruit made her decision public on Tuesday, citing Oklahoma’s strong program culture and development opportunities as key factors.
“I’m excited to join the Sooners and be part of a team that competes at the highest level,” Garcia said. “The coaching staff and the environment at Oklahoma stood out to me.”
Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso praised Garcia’s addition, calling her a “game-changer” for the program.
“Gabriella brings elite talent, leadership, and a championship mindset. We can’t wait to see her impact in Norman.”
Garcia, a five-star recruit, has dominated junior competitions and is expected to make an immediate impact in collegiate. Her commitment solidifies Oklahoma’s 2025 class as one of the nation’s best.
Georgia, Alabama and even Tennessee Vols had been strong contenders, but Garcia ultimately chose the Sooners, giving them a major boost ahead of the upcoming season.
