Erik ten Hag’s name being leaked by INEOS says a lot about the possibility of firing the Manchester United manager
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is under more and more pressure about his future.
After Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team joined Manchester United, Erik ten Hag is said to be having a hard time keeping his job at Old Trafford. The head of INEOS became a minority partner last month and will be in charge of United’s sports teams. Big changes are likely to happen.
Omar Berrada has already been hired as the new CEO, and Ratcliffe has already set his sights on Dan Ashworth, the sports director for Newcastle, who has been put on gardening leave while his future is being talked over.
But one big change that would be made is that Ten Hag would be replaced with a new head coach to start a new era at United. As of now, the Red Devils are sixth in the Premier League table. They are big underdogs in Sunday’s Manchester derby because they lost their last league game at home to Fulham.
A report in The Independent says that Ten Hag’s future has not been decided yet, but INEOS is starting to see him as their own Claudio Ranieri at Chelsea before Roman Abramovic came and quickly hired Jose Mourinho to great success.
The new chiefs have made it clear that standards need to be raised everywhere. Every area will be looked at, and no one is safe from being fired, not even Ten Hag. Ratcliffe and the others still don’t have a lot of faith in the Dutchman, and the inconsistent way he plays needs to be fixed.
People think that things can still be fixed, but Ten Hag will need a much better end to the season to win over the people in charge at United. He hopes that can happen when key players come back from injury, but this latest leak doesn’t look good for his future.
Some people will see that Ten Hag’s days are numbered, and INEOS could hire a head coach of their choice, like Graham Potter, Simone Inzaghi, or Roberto De Zerbi. But Ten Hag wants those who don’t believe in him to look at the “bigger picture” after a run of bad luck.
It was brought up that Ten Hag might miss out on playing in the Champions League next season. He replied, “After these two months I can’t go with that approach.” The last few weeks have been great, but now we’re having some problems.
“Once you lose, you have to look at the bigger picture, and it looks great.” We need to catch up in some areas and get the injured players back. Once that’s done, we’ll be more even, and we can also add to the team during the transfer openings.
“You can see that a lot of good players are coming up, as well as players with a lot of potential. We are definitely moving in the right direction.” We have a great team when all of our stars are available.
