Enzo Maresca says that one of Chelsea’s players will not play against Manchester United because of three injuries.

There will be three players back for Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea team when they play Manchester United, but Jadon Sancho will not be able to make the trip back to Old Trafford.

The home team will be very confident since they just hired Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP as their new permanent boss. Even though the 39-year-old won’t be in charge on Sunday because Ruud van Nistelrooy is staying on as a temporary coach, things are getting better.

The Dutch manager will be put to the test by a match between two of the best teams in the Premier League. However, he will be confident that his team can win after winning their spot in the next round of the Carabao Cup last week. Newcastle beat Chelsea and knocked them out of the competition. At this point, they are much closer to the top of the table than Man United, but they have been falling from grace in recent years too.

At Maresca’s Chelsea press appearance on Friday, the first thing he did was send a message of welcome to Amorim. “First, best of luck to him,” he said. If those in charge made that choice, it’s because they believe it’s the right one. Best of luck to him and Manchester United.

That same year, from 2011 to 2012, the Blues boss shared a locker room with Van Nistelrooy and had nothing but good things to say about him. “I haven’t talked to Ruud yet.” On Sunday before the game, I’ll give him a big hug. “We expect a tough game,” he said.

Then it was Maresca’s turn to confirm the health of his team. “They are all available except Jadon [Sancho], who has been sick for a few days,” he said.

The 24-year-old would not have been able to play against his home club while on loan from Man United, no matter how healthy he was. The Football Association will only let this happen in cup tournaments.

In the end, this means Maresca can bring back Cole Palmer, Reece James, and Wesley Fofana, all of whom he rested when Chelsea lost at St. James’ Park last week.

When he talked about the first one—a former Man United fan who beat Erik ten Hag’s team at Stamford Bridge last season with a hat-trick and two goals in extra time—he confirmed Palmer will play the lead part.

“He’s going to play.” “Cole is always doing very well,” the Italian said. “At the start of the season, I said that we shouldn’t put all the pressure on him to score 20 goals and set up 20 others. To do that, we would be unrealistic.” He needs to like football.

“He will score and help his teammates for sure if he enjoys it.” Cole is outstanding when he scores goals and when he doesn’t, too, because he makes it easy for the other players to do their best.
