Manchester United
Edin Terzic, the former manager of Borussia Dortmund, has come out as a surprise candidate for the job at Manchester United. Erik ten Hag is still in danger of being fired.
A surprising candidate to replace Erik ten Hag, who is under a lot of pressure at Manchester United, is Edin Terzic, who used to lead Borussia Dortmund.
WHAT CAME ABOUT?
Terzic led Dortmund to the final of the Champions League last year, but he quit his job soon after. Now, The Sun says United is considering the German if they decide to fire boss Ten Hag.
THE LARGER PHOTO
A lot of people want Ten Hag to keep his job at Old Trafford. Even though they spent about £200 million ($261 million) on players this summer, United is currently 14th in the Premier League and doesn’t look like they’re making any progress. Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, both of whom used to manage Chelsea, are also said to be being considered by the Red Devils as possible replacements.
WHAT DID YOU KNOW?
Terzic has been Dortmund’s manager twice. The first time was as a temporary boss from December 2020 to June 2021, and the second time was from May 2022 to June 2024. It was his first time in charge that they won the DFB-Pokal cup, but his most recent time was better (66.94 vs. 62.5).
WHAT’S NEXT?
There has been a lot of talk about who could replace Ten Hag at United. Next Saturday, the Red Devils will play Brentford at home in the Premier League. When things don’t get better, Terzic might step up.
