Everton
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will take a free transfer from Everton in 2025.
Even though Dominic Calvert-Lewin has refused to sign a new deal at Goodison Park, Dan Bardell thinks that Everton would rather lose him in the summer.
With his deal running out, the 27-year-old is keeping all of his options open about a possible move away from Everton.
The forward has turned down several offers to stay on Merseyside [The Mirror], which means Sean Dyche and his team may try to get rid of him in January.
Based on how important he is to the team, Bardell, a writer for Sky Sports and talkSPORT, believes that Everton will wait until the summer to let the ex-Sheffield United player go.
Bardell told Goodison News exclusively, “It’s going to be one of those deals where we have to part ways.”
When his deal ends in six months, Calvert-Lewin will want to try something new and see what’s out there. He has been at Everton for a long time.
It’s possible that he could leave Everton in January, but I don’t think they can because he’s still very important to them.
“He’s had a good stretch of staying fit, and even when he hasn’t scored, I always think he’s a threat.”
“It would be risky for Everton to lose Calvert-Lewin during this important season, so I think he will see out his contract and leave in the summer.”
In the summer, Everton could lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin to another team.
It will be interesting to see if Everton try to trade the star in January or wait until the summer transfer window.
If you wait until the end of the season, it might be best because Calvert-Lewin has started every Premier League game for Dyche’s team this season.
It doesn’t look like the Englishman will sign a new deal at Goodison, but the club might need him to make a difference if they want to avoid relegation before moving to the Bramley Moore Dock stadium.
