Dear Gamecock Nation,

 

As I sit down to write this message, my heart is filled with a whirlwind of emotions—gratitude, nostalgia, pride, and a touch of sadness. After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision to step down as the head coach of the South Carolina women’s basketball team. I want to take this moment to personally thank each and every one of you, our incredible fans, for your unwavering support, passion, and dedication over the years.

 

From the very first game I coached here, I knew we were building something special. Your energy in the stands, your cheers, your banners, and your relentless enthusiasm have been the heartbeat of our program. You have created an environment that motivates our players to perform at their best and has made every victory sweeter and every challenge more manageable.

 

Throughout my tenure, we have celebrated countless milestones together—record-breaking seasons, NCAA tournament runs, and national championships. These achievements are not just mine or the team’s—they belong to all of you who have stood by us through every game, every season, and every hurdle. Your loyalty has been the backbone of our success, and I am forever grateful for the love and support you have shown.

 

Beyond the wins and titles, what I cherish most are the relationships built, the community we’ve fostered, and the memories we’ve created. Whether it was a game-winning shot, a tough loss, or a quiet moment after practice, your presence made all the difference. You are more than fans—you are family, and I have been honored to be part of this community.

 

To my players—thank you for your hard work, dedication, and trust. Watching you grow both on and off the court has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. You have inspired me every day with your resilience, passion, and commitment. I am proud of the young women you are becoming, and I look forward to seeing all the amazing things you will accomplish.

 

To the university, staff, and support staff—your partnership and belief in our vision have been instrumental. Your dedication behind the scenes often goes unnoticed, but please know that I appreciate every effort you’ve made to ensure our program’s success.

 

As I move on to the next chapter of my life, I do so with a heart full of gratitude. While I am stepping away from my role as head coach, I will always carry the memories, lessons, and friendships formed here. South Carolina will forever hold a special place in my heart.

 

To the future of our program: I have no doubt that with your continued passion and support, the best is yet to come. Keep cheering, keep believing, and keep lifting each other up. The Gamecocks will soar to new heights, and I will be rooting for you from afar.
