The Athletic reports that Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen of Manchester United have been withdrawn from the Denmark squad due to injuries and will miss their forthcoming matches against Slovenia and Northern Ireland.

On Saturday, the injuries transpired amidst Manchester United’s 1-0 triumph over Luton Town, wherein Victor Lindelof, in an improbable role, scored in the 59th minute.

After forty minutes, Eriksen was the first to leave the field with what appeared to be a knee injury; Hojlund, on the other hand, was substituted in the second half with a hamstring injury.

The Danish tandem joins Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia on the list of Manchester United players sidelined due to a variety of illnesses and injuries.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag will be eager to reintegrate Hojlund and Eriksen into the lineup in order to enhance their chances ahead of an upcoming hectic stretch.

Having scored five goals in four games as one of the most consistent performers in the Champions League, Hojlund has yet to record a goal in the Premier League.

Ten Hag’s starting lineup has also been bolstered by his compatriot Eriksen, who has appeared in 15 games across all competitions and provided two assists and one goal.

Although Manchester United will unquestionably miss Eriksen’s proficiency in the middle of the park, Mason Mount may have the chance to demonstrate his skills following a difficult start at Old Trafford in his absence.

Since concluding his £55 million transfer from Chelsea in the summer, the 24-year-old has fallen short of expectations, putting forth a single assist in 12 appearances across all competitions.

Manchester United are approaching a critical stretch of Champions League matches, which include decisive contests against Galatasaray and Bayern Munich.

Man United are the most in-form team in the Premier League over the last five games (W4, L1) as a result of their victory over Luton on Saturday, but Ten Hag’s mounting pressure has not been alleviated.
