This is the second loss for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia was behind the Ole Miss Rebels at halfway and couldn’t get back on track. They lost 28–10 and are now 7–2 on the season and 5-2 in the SEC.

First, the Rebels scored first, giving Georgia a 7-0 lead. But, Georgia quickly lost steam and was behind 16–7 at halftime. Early in the second half, the Bulldogs made a field goal to get closer, but that was all they could do at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

The Rebels’ offence gained 397 yards and led to three mistakes. Quarterback Jaxon Dart completed 13 out of 22 passes for 199 yards, including one score and one interception. He also ran eight times for 50 yards, which was the most on the team.

Georgia’s offence was limited to 245 yards, and the Rebels’ defence was tough to deal with. QB Carson Beck was not very good. He completed 20 out of 31 passes, gained 186 yards, and threw an interception. Late in the fourth quarter, he also lost the ball.

Fans were angry on social media that Beck and the Bulldogs had another bad game.

ESPN said that this was Georgia’s first loss to a team other than Alabama since November 7, 2020, when it lost to Florida.

Last year, Georgia missed the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2020. Their loss on Saturday makes it harder for them to get back in. To stay in the 12-team group at this point, the Bulldogs will probably need to play flawlessly the rest of the way. The Bulldogs will face No. 7 Tennessee next weekend, which will be a tough game.

Ole Miss, on the other hand, made a lot of progress on its resume to make the Playoffs. In two weeks, it can do even more by playing a Florida team that is having a terrible season.
