On Monday, in an NBA Summer League game against the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson believed he had the game-tying buzzer beater.
Jackson attempted a last-second shot with his team down three points, and it appeared like it might have gone past the 3-point line.
Even though Jackson’s foot was on the line, the officials promptly called it a two-pointer, even though the shot banked in.
Even after arguing with the officials, the Grizzlies still lost 112-111. See the play down below.
Jackson finished the game with a team-high 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting. He also added five rebounds and a pair of blocks, but the shot at the end will surely haunt him
On the other side, Brice Sensabaugh lit up the scoreboard for 37 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
The back-and-forth between both scorers certainly made things interesting all the way down to the end for fans in attendance.
GG Jackson just wrapped up his second NBA season after being selected by the Grizzlies in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft out of South Carolina.
He averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds across 15.8 minutes per game
Despite losing on Monday night, the 6-foot-9 forward will still be out to prove himself this summer.
The next game for the Grizzlies is Tuesday’s 7 p.m. ET matchup in Salt Lake City against the 76ers of Philadelphia.
