Bruno Fernandes gives brutal judgement on Man United winning the Premier League title. Reveals club’s major objective
Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, has issued a brutal declaration regarding the club’s prospects for the Premier League title in the wake of their 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday.
At the weekend, the Red Devils were defeated by their arch-rivals, which was a disappointing outcome. For the majority of the game, they were second-best and could have suffered a more significant defeat.
United have only accrued three points from their initial three league matches. They are currently six points behind the leader and four points behind the top four.
In a recent interview with DAZN (via Goal), Fernandes acknowledged that the current United squad is not prepared to win the Premier League this season.
He further stated that they are indeed competing for the title with the concrete and genuine goal of finishing in the top four, which would guarantee Champions League participation.
He stated, “Certainly, I am cognisant of the fact that Manchester United is not yet prepared to secure the Premier League title.”
“We are, in fact, competing for the title with the tangible and genuine goal of achieving a top-four finish, which is a prerequisite for entry into the Champions League.”
“Nevertheless, there is still much to be done to achieve the overarching goal and fulfil my aspiration of winning this championship one day.”
United’s curtain-raiser against Fulham was commendable; however, they have encountered difficulties with ball control in their most recent two matches. The full-backs have also been caught out of position.
The club’s fortunes could be enhanced by replacing Casemiro in the controlling midfield role with Manuel Ugarte. However, the club must also capitalise on clear-cut opportunities in the attacking third.
Joshua Zirkzee was culpable of squandering two exceptional scoring opportunities in the match against Liverpool. Had he converted them, the game’s perspective would have been altered.
United will resume play with an away match against Southampton following the international break. The team must resume its winning streak with an early Saturday kickoff.
The Saints have yet to make a significant impact upon their return to the top tier. United has the ideal opportunity to secure a victory that will boost their morale and provide them with momentum for the upcoming games.
