Bruiser Fernandes: A top source at Manchester United confirms the cheating decision
The club’s former chief scout says that Bruno Fernandes and Erik ten Hag have not had a fight, despite current rumors to the contrary.
Former United top scout Mick Brown, who still has a lot of connections at the club, told Football Insider that the attacking midfielder is unhappy with his recent play and results but is still playing for the manager.
There were rumors among United fans that the captain was no longer playing for the boss because he has been out of form for a while.
Fernandes, 30, has played 11 times this season and hasn’t scored. He has now gone 15 games in all categories without setting up a goal.
He was also sent off in back-to-back games against Tottenham and Porto, though the FA later overturned the first one.
Because of these games, some people thought he was no longer playing for the boss and had quit, but Brown has now put those rumors to rest.
Though the former United scout agreed that the midfielder has not played as well as he has in the past, he claimed that it was not because he was not trying hard.
Bruno Fernandes fight rumors are false, according to an ex-Man United scout.
An ex-England goalie named Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Fernandes will have a lot to do with Ten Hag’s firing.
After more than a decade at United, including a time as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant manager, Brown has said the same thing. However, he has denied rumors of a fight between the two that happened behind closed doors.
He told Football Insider, “It wouldn’t surprise me if the players were getting angry.”
“But I don’t think Bruno would have put down his tools.”
“Some people have said that he might not be playing for the manager, but I don’t hear that. I also haven’t heard of a fight between them.
“There’s no doubt that he hasn’t been at his best at the start of the season, but it’s not because he has done nothing.”
“I just think these things happen from time to time, and the fact that the manager is under a lot of stress while he’s not at the top of his game is just a coincidence.”
“It would be a very bad sign if he stopped playing for him, but from what I’ve heard, that hasn’t happened.”
However, it’s the way he’s being asked to play and his part in the team that’s causing problems.
“He’s probably just as mad as some of the fans about how he’s been playing and how the team has been doing.”
