BREAKING: Women’s Super League has reached an agreement with Barclays for a new sponsorship deal worth whooping sum
Barclays has renewed its three-year agreement to serve as the title sponsor of the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship.
The current agreement, which expires at the conclusion of this season, is estimated to be worth approximately £15 million annually, which encompasses investment and marketing.
Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), the new acquisition company of the WSL, has secured its inaugural significant contract.
In 2019, Barclays assumed the role of title sponsors, and the renewal is considered the most significant event in the history of women’s domestic football.
Over the past few years, the WSL has experienced a consistent rise in attendance and viewing figures.
Nikki Doucet, the chief executive of WPLL, stated, “Barclays has been a pioneer in its support of women’s football. They have become a founding partner of WPLL as we embark on a transformational journey to expand the game.”
“This record multi-year investment demonstrates long-term commitment and is important because it provides positive endorsement and increased support for what we are trying to accomplish.”
Barclays has also renewed its partnership with the Premier League, signing a new four-year agreement.
