BREAKING: Two Liverpool stars rumored to leave the club and join Spanish giants Real Madrid next summer following contract stand-off
Graeme Souness has a hypothesis that Trent Alexander-Arnold is already preparing to depart for Madrid, and he anticipates that Virgil van Dijk may also be joining him at the La Liga giants.
Graeme Souness, a Liverpool legend, is of the opinion that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, who are currently with the Kop, may be on their way to Real Madrid next summer.
Alexander-Arnold is the ideal candidate for the La Liga powers, according to former Reds midfielder and manager Souness, while Van Dijk has the potential to enhance their defence. Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Mo Salah are all in the final year of their contracts at Anfield, and there is currently no indication that new agreements have been reached.
Salah disclosed that he has not yet been contacted by the club’s executives regarding a new contract following the 3-0 victory over Manchester United. This has raised concerns that the triumvirate may depart without compensation next summer, as they are free to negotiate with foreign clubs beginning in January.
Souness, who played for Liverpool from 1978 to 1984 and subsequently managed the team, believes that Alexander-Arnold’s substitution against Manchester United by new manager Arne Slot is a negative development. The 25-year-old England right-back was substituted with 14 minutes remaining, a week after he was displeased with his substitution against Brentford.
“Souness stated on William Hill’s Up Three Up Front podcast that Trent Alexander-Arnold is “tailor-made” for Real Madrid due to his exceptional delivery and his style of play. Additionally, he is close friends with Jude Bellingham.”
“He could potentially make his way to Madrid, and Liverpool may have already received that message.” There is no apparent rationale for Trent to be substituted against Manchester United, except for the possibility that they are aware of his impending departure.
“They would still prefer to retain his services for the remainder of the season, and he will be released for free at the conclusion.” It is possible that the club’s executives have already been informed of his decision. He is exhausting his contract. If you are planning to depart Liverpool, where else can you truly improve yourself than at Real Madrid?
Van Dijk, 33, disclosed that negotiations about a new contract have not yet commenced. He would be highly sought after if he were to become available on a free agent basis next summer. However, the Scot is optimistic that none of the three will depart.
Souness stated, “Liverpool cannot allow all three of Trent, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk to depart.” Trent and Van Dijk were both visible to me at Real Madrid.
“The point is that the sole destination you would truly desire if you were to depart Liverpool is Madrid.” Van Dijk may be maturing, but he remains an athlete. It is still possible to extract a few more years of excellent performance from him. He surpasses the capabilities of existing Real Madrid players, including Antonio Rudiger.
“He is more of a footballer; he is a superior athlete, superior in the air, and superior on the ball.” I would not even attempt to compare the two.
Souness is of the opinion that the Reds have the ideal successor in 21-year-old Conor Bradley in the event that Alexander-Arnold were to depart. He also stated that Arne Slot removed Conor Bradley from the substitute during matches against Brentford and Manchester United.
“He is an appropriate player.” Slot may have simply desired to provide him with an understanding of the experience of playing at Old Trafford in order to maintain his loyalty. He is ensuring that Bradley is content by providing him with a few minutes.
“He is certainly observing Bradley with great interest.” From Slot, it is indicative of proactive planning. He has been informed that he is capable of making the first team, and he is eager to verify this claim.
