Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian forward for the Super Eagles, has been excluded from Antonio Conte’s first-team squad, which has prompted an imminent transfer for the forward.

According to Soccernet.ng, Galatasaray, a Turkish behemoth, is purportedly in negotiations with Napoli to acquire Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a four-month loan.

Osimhen, who was embroiled in a significant transfer dispute during the 2024 summer window, was disappointed to discover that his intended departure from the Diego Maradona Stadium was unsuccessful.

The Neapolitan club has excluded the Super Eagles star from their first-team squad as a result of the unresolved tension resulting from this unsuccessful transfer.

Galatasaray has initiated negotiations for a short-term loan agreement that has the potential to be extended for a full season in order to maintain Osimhen’s match-fitness and activity.

Osimhen’s persistence in securing consistent playing time is the primary motivation behind this provisional arrangement, particularly in light of the ongoing interest from two Premier League clubs regarding a potential January transfer.

The London club is still actively negotiating to secure Osimhen’s services in January, despite a previous salary dispute with Chelsea that halted a summer transfer.

The player and Chelsea have reached an agreement on personal terms, and both parties are anxious to finalise the agreement, according to reports from Nigerian broadcast journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, also known as Buchi Laba.

Chelsea has escalated their efforts to secure Osimhen’s transfer to Stamford Bridge, as evidenced by additional reports. They have explicitly communicated their intentions to Napoli. Both parties are under pressure to conclude negotiations expeditiously, potentially prior to Osimhen’s departure for international service with Nigeria.

Buchi Laba also observed that a Premier League club reportedly requested a signed agreement to guarantee Osimhen’s availability in January, but this request was denied. At present, Osimhen is preoccupied with the pursuit of play, the preservation of his current form, and the respect for the clubs that are currently interested in him, all of which are in an ambiguous phase of his career.

The discussions between Napoli and Galatasaray have been ongoing since Saturday, and it is anticipated that additional information will be disclosed in the near future as Osimhen endeavours to negotiate this difficult chapter in his professional life.
