BREAKING: Southampton willing to sign ‘scary’ Man City player in the summer – Journalist
Southampton is purportedly interested in recruiting a Manchester City player this summer.
The Saints secured their return to the Premier League by defeating Leeds United in the Championship Play-Off final last month, following their relegation from the league last season.
A journalist has disclosed some behind-the-scenes information regarding a specific City player that the south coast club is monitoring as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League season, as the next summer transfer window is imminent.
Journalist Jack Rosser recently expressed his thoughts on the subject in a post on his X account.
He stated, “Southampton intend to recruit a new striker/forward this summer.”
“There is still some hope that Che Adams may stay, as Ben Brereton Diaz and Liam Delap are on the list.”
“Callum O’Hare has garnered substantial interest; however, it appears that a deal is not imminent at this time.”
The striker has now completed three loan spells away from the Manchester club, including Stoke City, Preston North End, and most recently, Hull City, since joining the club’s youth divisions in the 2019 summer transfer window.
Eight goals and two assists were recorded by the 21-year-old in 31 Championship games during his tenure with the Tigers last season.
In December of last year, former Hull manager Liam Rosenior expressed his opinion of the striker, who occasionally played on the right side of the pitch during the previous season.
He stated, “I believe Liam’s consistency is also improving.” He is consistently improving during his tenure with us, and he will pose a significant threat to us for the remainder of the season.
“He is so talented that he can play in any position on the field.” He is inherently a nine. He is a number nine with a high level of technical and physical capabilities, as well as speed.
“Occasionally, it will simply enhance his performance for him to play on the side.” I believe he is approximately twenty years old. The potential and ability of this individual are quite frightening. I am optimistic that I will have the opportunity to collaborate with him for an extended period beyond the next few months.
Southampton has included Delap on their transfer list for the forthcoming summer window, which is understandable given the aforementioned information.
City will be presented with a decision to make regarding the striker’s next step in response to any offers that may be received.
