BREAKING: Records and defenses are being broken by Kentucky’s Koby Brea.

Fans of Big Blue love teams that can make threes. Pope’s first team is well on its way to making a name for itself in the long history of Kentucky basketball.

One player is really heating up right now. Koby Brea, who moved from Dayton. That’s how good Brea’s hitting has been in just a few games, as shown by his stats.

Brea has made an amazing 20 of his 27 three-point shots, giving him an amazing 74% from beyond the line. That’s right, and no, that’s not his free throw rate; that’s 80%.

By comparison, 261 NCAA teams shoot worse from the free-throw line than he does from three-point range. Yes, he’s more safe from deep than most teams are from 15 feet.

TeamRankings.com says that his effective field goal rate is 92%, which makes the numbers even stranger. As an example:

Ryan Kalkbrenner of Creighton is another good scorer. His effective FG% is 90%, but he has only made five three-point shots in 47 tries.

Brea, on the other hand, is great at making long three-pointers, which makes him perfect for Mark Pope’s fast-paced attack.

The fact that Brea shot is a surprise that Kentucky fans are glad to hear about. Stretching the floor has made it easier for Lamont Butler and Otega Oweh to get to the basket and has made it very hard for other teams’ defenders to stop them. No matter where he is on the floor, they can’t leave him.

This level of shooting accuracy isn’t just amazing; it breaks the game for the other team. There is no doubt that Brea is one of the most exciting players to watch this season, even though he only plays 22 minutes per game.

Their chances of going far in March just got better if he keeps scoring like this. There is one thing that is certain: every team Kentucky plays will be stumped on how to stop him. The main problem is that every Kentucky player can shoot well. They’ll find the free man if they focus on Brea. They helped Jackson State out 29 times.

When Koby Brea is on fire, the Wildcats are just as scary as ever. Hold on tight, Big Blue Nation! This season has only just begun, but it could be a historic one.

Koby Brea is what Jon Rothstein calls “the best shooter in the country.” He’s not mistaken.

To start the season, Koby Brea is on fire, making a ton of shots from the field and behind the three-point line. Brea made all three shots in the win over Lipscomb, and Jon Rothstein of CBS College Basketball called him the best scorer in the country.

From behind the arch, Brea has made an amazing 78.9% of his 19 shots, as shown by Rothstein’s tweet. He has only missed four of them. It’s crazy, even though the season is only four games old.

Before the game, he had the best three-point shooting rate in the country (75%). The next best player was Horace Simmons of Drexel. Simmons has tried 11 times and made 8. He made eight of them in one game, going eight of nine from three. It was a great example of “keep shooting if you’re hot.” After the Lipscomb game, Brea’s lead grew even more, going 3-3.

He was also 70% from the field before the game. From behind the arch, he makes more shots than from in front of it. That’s how good he is from three. But it’s not just his three-point shot that makes him a great basketball player. Additionally, he is the best basketball player in a more advanced stats category called “Individual Offensive Rating.”

He’s been really good at making three-point shots lately, even though his team is off to a great start this season. He hit 100 of 201 three-point shots at Dayton last year, which is just under 50%. That made him the best three-point shooter in all of college basketball that year.

His first year, he got close to 40%, and his second year, he got 42.3%. He’s getting better and better all the time. At 50%, he was the best college basketball player ever. Now, after two weeks, he’s the best with almost 79%. This is video game math, and Rothstein is right. You love to see it.
