BREAKING NEWS: Man United star Marcus Rashford handed a ban for breaking strict rule
Court officials have verified that Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United striker, has been prohibited from operating a vehicle for a period of six months as a result of his admission to speeding.
On December 12, 2017, the 26-year-old, who possesses a collection of premium vehicles, was observed exceeding the 70mph (112km/h) speed limit on the M60 in Manchester while operating a Rolls-Royce.
The forward was disqualified for six months, fined £1,666, and required to pay £120 in court costs and a £66 surcharge, according to HM Courts and Tribunals Service.
The court record did not indicate the pace at which Rashford was travelling.
Rashford’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
The footballer, who was awarded an MBE in 2021 for his charitable efforts, recently announced that he intends to take some time to refocus his mind after acknowledging that he has experienced a “challenging season.”
After a challenging season, in which he scored only eight goals for United across all competitions, he was not included in manager Gareth Southgate’s squad.
He expressed his gratitude to his seven million followers on X for their support and announced that he would be withdrawing from social media in order to “reset and rejuvenate.”
The racing incident occurred three months after he was unharmed as a result of a car accident in September of the previous year.
The Manchester United players had returned to their Carrington training base on the team transport following their Premier League victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.
In a £700,000 Rolls-Royce, Rashford was engaged in a collision with another vehicle after collecting his own vehicle and embarking on his journey home.
The scene was attended by emergency services; however, Rashford did not necessitate medical attention, and no arrests were made.
Rashford possesses a number of Rolls-Royce automobiles, including a Cullinan Blue Shadow and a Black Badge Cullinan, which is valued at £390,000.
It is also reported that he possesses a Lamborghini Urus Performante priced at £350,000 and a McLaren 765 Long Tail priced at £280,000.
