BREAKING: Man United boss Erik ten Hag reveals Man United star will miss the clash against Brighton because “he has an issue.”
Victor Lindelof, a centre back, will not play for Manchester United this weekend when they take on Brighton, the team’s manager Erik ten Hag has said.
In the season’s opening game, the Red Devils defeated Fulham to begin their Premier League campaign.
The Premier League’s biggest teams started their season with a perfect three points, thanks to a late goal from new acquisition Joshua Zirkzee.
But ten Hag has stated that Lindelof, their centre-back, is suffering from a problem and won’t be playing against Brighton on Saturday.
The official Man United website was informed by the Dutch manager:
“He has a problem on his toe; there is no confusion.” That being said, Lindelof is not available for the weekend and hopefully will be able to return soon.
The Red Devils, who have been unlucky with the health of their players for a very long time, now have another injury problem.
Due to fitness concerns, players including Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Rasmus Hojlund are now sidelined.
Left-back While players like Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount failed to perform last season owing to their ongoing injury concerns, Tyrell Malacia has long-term conditioning issues.
The Manchester United manager has been unlucky to have to cope with so many injuries lately, but even without Lindelof against Brighton, he may start Martinez, Harry Maguire, or Matthijs de Ligt at centre back.
The Red Devils roster has more talent and depth than it had last season thanks to several astute additions made this summer.
Man United will be looking to keep up their unbeaten start this weekend as they take on Brighton, who destroyed Everton 3-0 in their season-opening encounter.
Following his game-winning goal against Fulham in the season opener, Joshua Zirkzee is anticipated to make his Man United debut.
