Chelsea
BREAKING: Chelsea struggling to sign Serie A star player on Deadline Day as Saudi club agree fee of £67m.
The striker from Napoli has been promised a weekly salary of £600,000 in exchange for his relocation to Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ahli has reached an agreement with Napoli to acquire Victor Osimhen, which has resulted in a late-stage scrambling to secure the striker for Chelsea.
Chelsea has prioritised Osimhen as a transfer target in anticipation of the deadline on Friday.
However, Sky Italia reports that Al-Ahli, a Saudi Arabian club, has reached an agreement to pay approximately £67 million in addition to add-ons in order to acquire him.
Osimhen is rumoured to have been offered a four-year contract that is estimated to be worth £600,000 per week. This has left Chelsea with a challenge in securing an agreement for the Nigerian international.
The signing of a new No. 9 has been the primary focus of Chelsea on deadline day, and it would be a significant disappointment to lose out on Osimhen.
He was the top scorer in Serie A two seasons ago and has tallied 76 goals in 133 games for Napoli.
This summer, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the 25-year-old; however, Al-Ahli are currently the frontrunners to secure his services.
Chelsea has also expressed an interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney, and they may be compelled to seek out alternative sources of attacking reinforcements.
However, Toney, who is currently in the final year of his contract with Brentford, is also rumoured to be in the process of securing a transfer to Saudi Arabia.
The uncertainty surrounding his future has prevented the England international from playing for the Bees this season.
