BREAKING: Chelsea currently on the verge of civil war amid allegations of ownership conflict as Todd Boehly makes huge decision

Todd Boehly is reportedly prepared to acquire Chelsea co-owners Clearlake Capital in order to prevent a boardroom “civil war” at Stamford Bridge.

When Roman Abramovich was compelled to sell as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Boehly and Clearlake assumed control.

Boehly shares the remaining 38.5% with two other investors, while Clearlake holds the majority stake with 61.5%.

According to reports, Boehly has been contemplating the possibility of purchasing Clearlake, and his relationship with frontman Behdad Eghbali is purportedly in a state of breakdown.

The American is of the opinion that he can rapidly raise more than £2.5 billion in order to submit an offer to Clearlake, which would earn them a return on their initial investment, as reported by the Telegraph.

According to the report, Boehly, who is 50 years old, has the support of investors and has a vision for the club that spans 20 to 30 years, which also includes the construction of a new stadium.

According to reports, Boehly has determined that the existing ownership structure is “unsustainable” and that a solution must be identified.

On Friday, Mail Sport reported that Clearlake has not engaged in discussions with Boehly and is solely focused on increasing their own stake.

Although the relationship is not as robust as it was after the acquisition two years ago, it remains professional, necessitating agreement to accomplish tasks.

Clearlake, an American investment firm, is interested in acquiring any of the three 13% interests it currently holds in order to maintain its presence at Stamford Bridge for the next decade.

Eghbali is the most involved of all proprietors, collaborating closely with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, particularly during the next hectic summer of transfers.
