BREAKING: Chelsea could make a shock transfer move for Manchester United ace winger

According to Dharmesh Sheth, a reporter for Sky Sports, Chelsea are contemplating a late approach for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho prior to the transfer deadline on Friday.

Sancho has been frequently associated with a departure from Old Trafford. On Saturday, he accompanied the team to the South Coast; however, he was not included in the matchday squad to face Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Blues are currently reportedly preparing to make a late move for the England international. It is conceivable that a player could be employed as a makeweight in order to secure the former Borussia Dortmund attacker.

The 24-year-old is preferred for a permanent transfer by United; however, a loan agreement has not been disregarded.

After criticising the Dutchman in a public statement following the Arsenal encounter, Sancho fell out of favour under manager Erik ten Hag in September of last year.

He was subsequently suspended by the Red Devils until January, at which point he was permitted to return to Dortmund on a short-term loan until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

The forward enjoyed a successful period upon his return to Germany; however, Dortmund was not persuaded to renew his contract, as a result of his substantial weekly remuneration at Old Trafford.

United are considering a transfer fee of approximately £40 million for Sancho’s departure; however, they may receive a significantly lower sum if Chelsea provide a first-team player as a makeweight for the transfer.

In order to facilitate a permanent transfer, the Red Devils may need to offer Sancho a potential pay-off in exchange for his agreement to accept a decrease in his basic £250,000 per week remuneration at Chelsea.

It is evident that Sancho is not a part of Ten Hag’s intentions, and as a result, United must part ways with him.
