Hubert Graczyk, a 21-year-old custodian, has been acquired by Manchester United following Arsenal’s decision not to renew his contract. Arsenal is currently making efforts to finalise a deal for Chido Obi-Martin.

Hubert Graczyk, a young custodian, has been acquired by Manchester United following his departure from Arsenal.

Arsenal released Graczyk earlier this summer, and he has since joined United. At United, the 21-year-old has joined Travis Binnion’s under-21 squad, having previously represented Poland and England at the junior level.

“I am thrilled to have joined this colossal organisation. Let’s commence our work,” he wrote on Instagram. Toby Collyer, who made his Premier League debut for United against Liverpool on Sunday, and Charlie McNeill, who departed United in June and currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday, were among those who commented beneath the post.

Graczyk was one of six young goalkeepers to depart Arsenal over the summer, alongside Aaron Ramsdale, who departed for Southampton. All of them have since secured new clubs: Arthur Okonkwo to Wrexham, Noah Cooper to Stoke, James Hillson to Southend, Owen Asemota to Aston Villa, and Ovie Ejeheri to Midtjylland.

Graczyk was benched for the United under-21s’ 3-1 victory over Blackburn on August 30. He is also following in the footsteps of Chido Obi-Martin, who is on the brink of joining United’s academy after departing Arsenal. Obi-Martin garnered attention during the 2023/24 season by scoring 32 goals for the Gunners’ under-18s and was pursued by numerous clubs.

United won the contest but are yet to agree a compensation fee for the 16-year-old forward. Goal have reported that legal issues are delaying the transfer and the case could go before a tribunal to determine how much United need to pay Arsenal for their part in his development.

Obi-Martin’s case has not yet been resolved; however, it is anticipated that he will permanently transfer to United in the near future once the legal issues are resolved. In the meantime, he has linked up with Denmark under-18s for the international break.

“I conversed with him last week and enquired whether he was injury-free and physically capable of participating in the fight.” “He was, and he is, in between jobs,” Morten Eskesen, his manager, stated to Tipsbladet. “Right now he doesn’t have a club, but it’s only a matter of time. Ultimately, the transfer window is a time of significant activity. We are aware of his principles.

He added: “When I read about him, they have been queuing up to get him. I’m sure a man with that talent will have no trouble finding a club. It might be more about which club he chooses.”

On the day of the transfer deadline, United acquired Mali youth international Sekou Kone from Guidars FC in his country of origin. The academy has welcomed the 17-year-old, who will be granted ample time to adjust to his new surroundings following his relocation to Manchester.
