BREAKING: Anthony Martial handed greatest contract deal in club’s history following his time at Manchester United

Anthony Martial, who was released by Manchester United in the summer, is currently without a club. However, he has been extended a lucrative contract to remain in Europe, despite having been linked to a transfer to Saudi Arabia in the past.

Anthony Martial, a former Manchester United player, has been extended an unprecedented contract by Greek powers AEK Athens.

Following his departure from Old Trafford, the French striker remains without a club. Martial’s contract expired in the summer, and he departed the Red Devils after nine years.

Numerous transactions, including lucrative agreements in Saudi Arabia and the United States, have been associated with the erstwhile Monaco starlet. However, it seems that the £44m man has an alternative option: the Greek Super League.

It has been reported that AEK Athens, a capital club, is interested in acquiring Martial for the upcoming campaign and is reportedly willing to spend a significant amount of money to achieve this. In his previous tenure with United, the striker earned a weekly salary of £250,000.

And while the compensation that would be offered in Greece has not been explicitly specified, it would be substantial. AEK is prepared to make Martial the highest-paid player in the club’s history, according to Sport24 via The Sun.

Erik Lamela, a former Tottenham player, is presently the highest-earning member of the club. However, Martial’s proposed salary would appear to surpass Lamela’s earnings. The pair would also be in for an awkward reunion following an infamous incident in 2020, in which the Frenchman was sent off for striking Lamela during Spurs’ 6-1 victory at Old Trafford.

Panagiotis Kone, the director of AEK, has been in London for the past few days to engage in discussions with Chelsea regarding David Datro Fofana. His participation in any discussions with Martial will be crucial. It was also reported that Lille was interested in the latter, but they have since disregarded the possibility of a transfer.

Olivier Letang, Lille’s president, stated in an interview with DAZN, “Have you had any interactions with Martial?” False. None at all. It is not my custom to accumulate participants. Jonathan David, Mohamed Bayo, and Matias Fernandez-Pardo comprise our team. That is already three solutions for a single position.

Martial, 28, appeared in 317 matches for United over the course of eight years at Old Trafford following his transfer from Monaco. During that period, he scored ninety goals.

He will not be the first former Premier League star to be enticed to Greece this summer if he completes a transfer to Athens. Willian, a former winger for Arsenal and Chelsea, has also made a comparable move by joining Olympiacos on a free transfer after departing Fulham.

According to reports, the Brazilian has executed a one-year contract that is estimated to be worth approximately £100,000 per week. Willian, 36, had previously declined a new contract at Craven Cottage.
