Breaking: Alabama’s LBs will be very important to their defence in the Iron Bowl.

In last weekend’s shocking loss to Oklahoma, Alabama’s defence lost one of its stars. Deontae Lawson, a redshirt junior defender, hurt his leg badly and will not be able to play this season.

Someone with a green dot will now be on Alabama’s defence. Junior defender Justin Jefferson will do it. Kane Wommack, the defensive coach, said on Tuesday that Jefferson would be in charge of communication while Lawson was away.

As our No. 2 in that spot, Justin Jefferson has been doing a great job all season, Wommack said. “He did a great job.” Jihaad can do it, but he plays so many roles that it is hard for him to be the green dot connection. Both of our guys are up to the task, but this week Justin will be in charge of most of it.

This season, Jefferson has played in all of Alabama’s games. In some packages, he has played as an extra defender. Besides that, he has played on special teams. This weekend against Auburn, the player from Memphis, Tennessee, will be asked to do a lot. Jefferson has only been at Alabama since moving there from Pearl River Community College, so this will be his first game playing at inside linebacker.

Junior Jihaad Campbell will be a great friend to go through life with him. Several draft experts think the player from New Jersey will be picked in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. With 99 stops, he has the most on the team. He is the kind of safety who can “do it all” on four downs.

If Alabama wants their defence to work, I think Jefferson and Campbell need to have their best game of the season. As well as being able to do his job, Jefferson will need to be able to talk to other people in the defence very well. Even though it will be hard, Jefferson can do it because he knows a lot about the defence. Campbell has played well at times this season, but how he does this weekend could make or break Alabama’s defence.

Auburn’s offence is well-balanced and will give you a lot of trouble. The Crimson Tide need their linebackers to step up and make some big plays in order to get a much-needed win.
