Borussia Dortmund manager makes vibrant declaration about Jadon Sancho ahead of Man United return.
Jadon Sancho, a winger for Manchester United, started in Saturday’s Champions League final defeat at Wembley for Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid.
After Manchester United’s 2-0 loss to Real Madrid at Wembley on Saturday night, Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic is certain that Jadon Sancho will ultimately compete in another Champions League final during his tenure.
Following a recent resurgence in his career, Sancho aspired to conclude his loan tenure with Dortmund by leading the club to its first Champions League title since 1997. Despite putting forth a remarkable effort, they were unable to thwart Madrid’s pursuit of the trophy for the fifteenth time.
Two goals were scored in the final twenty minutes by the Spanish team, on goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior. Madrid, which had a streak of good fortune in the first half, were fortunate to hold a 0-0 score at halftime.
Sancho made his Dortmund debut on the right flank for 87 minutes before being substituted for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the closing stages. Although Dortmund manager Terzic did not witness the exhilaration of being crowned European champions, he praised the loanee from Manchester United in his post-match press conference, insisting that he has improved his teammates throughout his loan period.
“I think the last six months, Jadon has been brilliant for us,” Terzic asserted. “Getting back in shape took some time, but you can already sense his quality and abilities; he will have an immediate impact on our game.”
“Not only did he improve his own game, but so did every other player in his vicinity.” It is as if he has never deliberated on his initial stroke; he is exceptionally talented.
“I refrained from discussing the future because our conversation has been the present, and that present has been his participation in the Champions League final in his hometown, an extremely momentous occasion for him.” I am ecstatic that he is at our facility, and I believe that the happiness he brings to the locker room is palpable. It is a pleasure to collaborate with Jadon.
“We don’t know yet what the future will bring but for sure it is going to bring him another Champions League final.”
