Liverpool
Between Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, you won’t believe who makes the most money for Liverpool? Revealed
The great job of Jurgen Klopp is a big reason why Liverpool has been so successful over the last few years. The German coach made the Reds into one of the best teams in England and Europe. He brought them back to their former glory with a style of play that fans loved and people all over the world admired.
He did it with help, though. Top players who made a difference on the field were also important to him. Some of them have left, like Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Fabinho, but a lot of them are still great at Anfield Road. The coach trusts them, the people love them, and they’ve made a lot of money thanks to how well they play every weekend.
It’s not a surprise, then, that the highest-paid players are also the team’s best players. Mohamed Salah, who makes £18.2 million a season, is clearly at the top of the list. Virgil Van Dijk, who makes £11.4 million a year, is far behind in second place. No one was able to guess who was third on the list.
The land there is Thiago Alcantara’s. The defender from Spain makes almost as much as Virgil: £10.4 million a year. However, he is not very important to the team. In fact, he has only played for 5 minutes this season, when he came on late in Arsenal’s 3-1 loss on February 4. He hadn’t been able to play for months because of an injury to his hip, but now he’s not there because of a muscle problem.
How much do the other people make?
After Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold makes the most money at Liverpool. He makes £9.3 million a year. Alexis MacAllister and Alisson Becker are next, worth £7.8 million. Ryan Gravenberch, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez are next, worth £7.2 million. Luis Diaz, one of the team’s most important players, is much further down the list, in 18th place, with a pay of £2.8 million a year.
