In his most recent Instagram post, Jaylen Mbakwe, a sophomore wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, appears substantially larger.
Mbakwe made the full transition to wide receiver during the spring.
He lined up at cornerback throughout the regular season of his freshman year in 2024.
He initially made the switch to offense when Alabama was preparing for the ReliaQuest Bowl.
The former five-star is listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds on the Tide’s roster.
He will have an opportunity to crack Alabama’s wide receiver rotation and be a weapon on special teams in 2025.
