As a result of an injury, a key player for Manchester City skips training in advance of their matches against Liverpool and Newcastle United
The news on Manchester City’s injuries is that Pep Guardiola may be without yet another attacking option after a key player did not show up for an open training session.
Jeremy Doku, a winger for Manchester City, did not show up for the team’s first training session before their Champions League match against FC Copenhagen today evening. today is yet another injury setback for the club. During City’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday, Doku played for a little under an hour. However, he was not present during their open training session prior to their Champions League Round of 16 match. This raises questions over whether or not he will be able to participate in both that match and their crucial meeting against Liverpool over the weekend.
After confirming that the former Aston Villa player is set to miss their next several matches, including their FA Cup Quarter Final encounter against Newcastle United, Pep Guardiola will already be without Jack Grealish till the end of the month. This is because Grealish is expected to miss the competition. While this was going on, Doku experienced what was described as “mild discomfort” after the victory on Sunday’s derby day. The timetable for his return to the first squad is presently uncertain.
The Citizens are now the holders of the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League, and they continue to compete in all three competitions in an effort to keep their treble. Since the beginning of the season, the only team that has been able to eliminate City from any competition is Newcastle United, who defeated them in the Carabao Cup back in September.
Kieran Trippier, a member of the Three Lions, is certain to miss both the match against Chelsea on Monday and the trip to the Etihad Stadium. As a result, the Magpies will be without Trippier for the foreseeable future. Tino Livramento, who is 21 years old, came on to score his first goal for Newcastle United after receiving a replacement for Trippier, who suffered a calf injury during the victory over Wolves over the weekend. Tino Livramento would go on to score his first goal for Newcastle United.
