Arsenal could transform Jesus’ role by acquiring a “goal machine” for £50 million.
In January, Mikel Arteta could utilize Gabriel Jesus’s assets to construct a new front line…
Reportedly prepared to engage in the January transfer window, Arsenal are seeking to acquire a Premier League champion for the first time since 2004 in the person of Mikel Arteta.
Last season, the north Londoners came agonizingly close to winning the league; however, Arteta’s squad’s vulnerabilities were exposed by injury issues and a lack of depth in the lineup; these weaknesses are already manifesting this season.
The January transfer window will be crucial for the manager to bolster his squad and combat injury concerns with confidence, as Arsenal has the opportunity to re-enter the title competition if its current form continues.
In addition to bolstering the depth of their starting lineup, the Gunners may also seek to improve their current preferred XI, with a variety of positions rumored to be candidates for imminent enhancements.
The midfield is reportedly Arteta and Edu’s primary focus for strengthening the squad in January, according to a report in the Mirror. Additionally, a number of forwards have been linked to the club in an effort to improve the already spectacular front line’s output.
A forward identified as a possible target for the Emirates is Brentford talisman Ivan Toney, who on the Diary of a CEO podcast expressed his admiration for the Gunners.
The Bees reportedly value the Englishman at £100 million, with a report from the Mirror indicating that the west Londoners are doing so in an effort to deter Arsenal’s interest.
With 20 goals in the Premier League last season, the 27-year-old placed third behind Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, demonstrating how potent he could be in Arteta’s attack.
Away from England, Football Insider has identified the north Londoners as a potential suitor for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, in addition to Toney, as an additional prominent target.
As previously reported by Football Transfers earlier this month, Arteta continues to favor the 23-year-old forward prior to his transfer to Turin. This assertion follows the Gunners’ interest in the forward in January of last year.
The Sun relays a revised report from Italy which states that the Premier League club are “likely to surpass” Real Madrid in their pursuit of the 6′ 3 colossus, who is valued at approximately £50 million.
Arsenal might be able to snag a bargain by acquiring the Serbian for less than his current market value of €80 million (£70 million). Vlahovic possesses a multitude of qualities that have the potential to elevate the squad to the next level.
