Mikel Arteta is currently in search of the final component of Arsenal’s puzzle in their quest to secure the Premier League title, with only a few days remaining in the summer transfer window.

Mikel Merino, another exceptional acquisition for Arsenal, may be accessible to play against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

Merino would be the third permanent addition to the club this summer, joining Riccardo Calafiori and David Raya. This triumvirate is exceptional.

That being said, Arsenal is unlikely to abandon their pursuit of additional players and may still recruit two or three more.

Arsenal is currently in the process of pursuing the signing of Joan Garcia, a decision that is contingent upon Aaron Ramsdale’s departure.

Of course, Arsenal will have forfeited several indigenous players in order to fulfil their quota, as Arteta has the authority to authorise transfers for Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson this week.

Arsenal may have discovered the ideal solution to both concerns, as they are also interested in adding an attacker to their squad before the window closes.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been frequently associated with Arsenal in the past, and Arteta must hold him in high regard.

Arsenal is currently one of three Premier League teams that are contemplating a late proposal for Calvert-Lewin, as reported by CaughtOffside.

This summer, Everton is prepared to sell Calvert-Lewin, as he is not presently planning to sign a new contract with the club.

Arsenal could potentially acquire him, as his contract expires in just one year.

Chelsea is also monitoring the situation, as they believe that Calvert-Lewin could become available as a “cheap option,” as indicated by the aforementioned report.

Earlier this summer, Newcastle United declined to pay Everton’s £40m asking price for Calvert-Lewin, estimating the striker’s worth at £25m in light of his contractual obligations.

Consequently, it is uncertain whether Sean Dyche’s team has made any modifications to their pricing structure since that time.

Calvert-Lewin was raised with Thierry Henry as his ideal, and although he would never achieve the same level of influence in north London as the Frenchman, he could serve as a viable alternative to Kai Havertz.

However, the 27-year-old has not yet achieved the level of performance that many had anticipated at Everton, despite his extended period of fitness.

However, it is possible that Arteta could be the individual to elevate the striker’s career.
