Arsenal Agree £16.5m Deal for Cristhian Mosquera as Wolves Close In on Arias
Arsenal have agreed a £16.5 million deal to sign 21-year-old centre-back Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia as Mikel Arteta continues to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts in the 2025/26 season. The Gunners moved quickly to secure the services of the Colombian-Spanish defender, who impressed in La Liga last season with his composure, ball-playing ability, and defensive maturity.
Mosquera, who made over 30 appearances for Valencia during the 2024/25 campaign, is known for his calm presence on the ball, strong positional sense, and aerial ability. Wolves have been looking to refresh their attacking options with players like Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence attracting interest from other clubs. Arias’ pace, dribbling, and creativity could give Wolves a new dimension in wide areas.
For Arsenal, the addition of Mosquera continues a very active summer. The club has already added striker Viktor Gyökeres, midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard, winger Noni Madueke, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
